My name is Laura. My husband's name is Jeff. We met (at our palest) in 2006 when he moved to NYC from Seattle on a whim...and my apartment just happened
to be where he moved into. Talk about random...er, fate.
How does such a thing happen?!
Well, one of my 2 roommates moved out and while another new gal called dibs to move in, she couldn't move in for 3 months.
What to do?
We were 24, starting out on our careers and most certainly NOT made of money. Our options were simple: either we craigslist-it or go with the West coast transplant that a friend-of-a-friend mentioned in passing.

We weighed our options and since craigslist can be creepy, we went with the random guy from Seattle! Jeff moved in November 30, 2006 and instantly became my super duper best friend. Three months after meeting, he got his own place with his own psycho from Craigslist (a story for another time) & we made it "official".
In August of 2008, we decided that we should probably rescue a dog together. (What a great idea!!! I know.)
Remy was a 6 month old, snaggle-toothed pup that someone abandoned on the streets in the Bronx...
He was perfect!!!

And in late February of 2009, Jeff surprised me with a proposal. To which, I quickly said, "YES PLEASE."
We were married 7 months later on September 25th 2009!
The day was unforgettable - complete with cutting cake...
...posing awkwardly for wedding day photos and dressing Remy up in killer wedding garb of his own.
Naturally, he rocked it.
In June of 2010, we moved 30 minutes outside of NYC to our very own
(nearly 100 year old) home!
Everyday, I can't help but feel lucky, lucky, lucky. And not only because I married my favorite person in the whole world and adopted the cutest little mutt there is. Nope, I'm also livin the dream due to my always-amazing friends (one of which is my sister).
Without them, my happiness would be cut in half.
They make everything...hilarious. encouraging. worthwhile.
AMAZING.
~Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future~
When I'm not working, writing my first not-yet published YA book or spending low-key time with my mini fam, you can usually find me curled up to an East Village dive bar, searching for crafty inspiration, performing sometimes successful house projects or cooking easy peasy, healthy recipes!
Oh and did I mention that I also have the most unbelievable parents on this earth? It's really impossible to love any two life-givers more, but I understand if you (having parents of your own) must disagree.
