2012, a Video.

Below is a little something I threw together to represent 2012.  Unfortunately, I did not video tape enough AT ALL last year, so while I wish I had more, it will have to do.  2012 was a hard year for personal reasons that I'll be sure to divulge at some point, but it was also an amazingly fantastic year in it's own way.  When I watch this, I try not to focus on my shoddy editing job and instead see how blessed and lucky we are.  And I also see how important it is to make memories like this one.  I've always felt pressure to be a historian of my life because you never know when you'll need to look back and "remember when"...

Click here for our Youtube yearly recap:  2012.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to see the video on mobile devices yet.  I swear, I am such a NOVICE....at EVERYTHING having to do with keeping a blog! Ahh.

Okay, enjoy!

Cross-Country Road Trip VIDEO!!!!

Yay! A recap of our 18 day cross country RV extravaganza is FINALLY here.  Long awaited, I know.  It has been a whole week and a half.  Whew.

So this 8 minute (and change) video can give you a taste of life inside the metal walls.  Edited to some lyrical love from Mike Snow, Calvin Harris and Jack White.

Flashback Friday

Here's a video from Jeff's 30th. He's actually still 30, so although this isn't from too far back, I think it still counts as a "flashback" because it's BB (Before blog).  We celebrated with 2 friends at Grand Cascades Lodge in Northern NJ (out past a bazillion places that I swear did not exist in this state - wild west park, anyone?).  In a word, Grand Cascades is...PERFECTION.  I mean, they have an indoor Bio-sphere and an outdoor heated (and an unheated, brr) pool!    I know it was Jeff's birthday, but it was one of my favorite weekends ever!

PS. This video was not edited by me.  Our friend (in the video) did it for us. Isn't it great?!
PPS. Enjoy!

Dog butt.

This is how we watch for crazies at rest stops.  I cover the front windows and Remy covers the back!

Aren't neurotic little pups the best?

Jeff and I went to Long Beach Island this weekend for some St. Patty Day family fun and we had a blast.  It's been one of the most stressful weeks of my life and I must say a weekend away was really great.  Getting away, no matter how nearby is perfect when the timing is right.

I hate flying!

Would one rather two feet on land or suspended in air (by way of a magical metal box called an airplane) when a sudden solar flair strikes?  Well...WHICH ONE?!  Why didn't they teach me this in school?  Why didn't I know about this before I booked my flight?  Why is the below article so difficult to understand?

If I've confused you thus far, I apologize.  It's just that there's a solar flair-a-comin and I'm freaking out!!!

Tomorrow morning, I leave for Arizona on a flight that is surely going to scare the living daylights out of me and I have no clue which direction Mother Earth and Sister Sun want me to run in.  Whatever it is, I'll do it.  Just tell me.  Please. Pretty please. I'm terrible with (loss of control) stuff like this.

First, I decide to take a flight that leaves before alcohol can be served at the airport and now I'm dealing with a testy planet. Wah.

EDITED TO ADD:  I probably won't die.  It says that plane routes are mostly effected near the polar regions.  NJ to AZ = not that. Yay for living.

RV'ing across America!!!!

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it.  Especially since I keep a blog and there's no reason to (hide it, that is!

Jeff and I, along with two of our most favorite friends, are RV'ing across the WHOLE country this summer!!!!  We will be starting in New Jersey and ending up in LA...where we'll then catch our flight home after 18 days of cross-country shenanigans!

At this very second, our dream list includes:

Nashville (completely out of the way)
Wyoming's Yellowstone Park
Colorado Rockies
South Dakota (Mt. Rushmore. Respect.)
San Fran

AND sooooo many random dive bars in between. This is about to be the ultimate American bar crawl. Whoop whoop!

UPDATED TO ADD that our REAL list included:
PA (biiiiig state, took forever)
Ohio
Indiana
Illinois
Wisconsin
Minnesota
South Dakota (Badlands, Mt Rushmore)
Wyoming for 3 days (Buffalo, Yellowstone, Thayne)
Idaho
Utah (Park City)
Nevada (Reno)
California
-Napa Valley
-Sonoma
-San Fran
-Monterrey
-Santa Cruz
-LA

Skiing

Last weekend, the hubs and I finally went skiing/snowboarding for the first time together.  I hadn't been in almost 7 years and can't believe how easy it was to get back on the mountain!  Unfortunately, this winter has been thoroughly mild and snow hasn't exactly been plentiful, but we found a mountain with some trails open and had a blast!

The quality isn't great (taken with Jeff's iPhone) and the sound in the background is the snow machine working overtime.  Also, don't be fooled...I did not go down the expert slope behind me.
Ski lodges rule!!!!

Go skiing, all.  I highly reccommend it.  But, if you go to Mountain Creek...do NOT rent your equipment from them.  Their system is absolutely bonkers and takes at least an hour if the mountains busy.
